Chocolate Fountain
Chocolate Fountains
are considered by many to be an elegant and
cost effective method of feeding and
entertaining large groups, and a Chocolate Fountain is
considered the ultimate accessory
for special occasion.
A chocolate fountain is a
device for serving chocolate fondue. Typical examples resemble a
stair-stepped cone, standing 1-4 feet tall with tiers over a
base that contains a motor and other working components.
Chocolate for a Chocolate Fountain is melted by heat from the
base of the Chocolate Fountain or pre-melted on the stove or in
a microwave, then poured into the base and transported to the
top of the chocolate fountain by either a pump or corkscrew
auger. As the chocolate reaches the top of the Chocolate
Fountain tiers, it flows gently over the tiers creating a
chocolate waterfall effect. Guests enjoy dipping various food
items into the flowing chocolate. It's not only a good way to
economically feed large groups but it's elegant, fun and
entertaining.
Chocolate Fountain dippers generally consist of fresh fruits and
confections, including: strawberries, pineapple, marshmallows,
pretzel rods, mini cream puffs, dried fruits, bite sized pieces
of Payday candy bars, Rice Crispy treats, shortbread cookies,
sugar wafers, Oreo's, Nutter Butter cookies, Vanilla Wafers,
etc.
Chocolate fountains are either commercial or home model
chocolate fountains.
Commercial chocolate fountains are made of food grade stainless steel,
including the auger that churns the chocolate up the center
tube,
and found in heights ranging from 23” tall to 52”
tall, and hold anywhere from 5 - 23 pounds of chocolate. Home chocolate
fountains are typically made of plastic or the better quality
models have a stainless steel base and tiers, and require 2-5 pounds
of chocolate. Initial commercial chocolate fountains were
introduced into the market over 16 years ago. Since then, we have
experienced new features, improved quality and ease of
operation.
