Chocolate Fountains
Chocolate fountains are devices used to serve chocolate fondue at parties and special events like weddings, birthdays,
bar mitzvahs, wedding receptions, special anniversaries, corporate events, sweet 16 parties, and so on. Chocolate fountains are an interactive centerpiece that allows party-goers to dip food items into flowing tiers of decadent chocolate. Typical chocolate fountains are approximately 2 to 4 feet tall and look like a multi-tired chocolate wedding cake when operating.
Chocolate fountains are categorized as either personal chocolate fountains or commercial chocolate fountains. Commercial chocolate fountains are made up of stainless steel and found in ranges of 25” to 52” in height. Most of these hold 6 to 20 pounds of chocolate. Home chocolate fountains are typically made of plastic and hold 1-3 pounds of chocolate. Chocolate Fountains should be suited to the applicable environment. A home model is fine for entertaining small groups. Large groups require much larger machines to adequately feed and entertain the party size.
Melted chocolate is transported to the top of the fountain by a pump or corkscrew auger. Commercial chocolate fondue fountains move chocolate to the top of the fountain with an auger. Many Chocolate Fountains are not capable of melting chocolate directly in the fountain base so chocolate must be melted first in a microwave or double boiler. DR™ commercial Chocolate Fountains are capable of melting chocolate directly in the base of the fountain which is very helpful for venues that do not have alternate heating sources available. Chocolate with high cocoa butter content is recommended for a decadent taste and texture, and for a beautiful flow over the fountain tiers.
