2007 Health Trends - Chocolate & Chocolate Fountains
As a major chocolate fountain distributor, it's
noteworthy to learn that chocolate in small portions may
actually be considered healthy. It's common knowledge that Chocolate has long been considered a 'sweet' but not necessarily a food, and certainly not a healthy one!
2007 Health Trends as cited in Asian Restaurant News (January
2007), discuss "smaller quantity and bigger taste" with a focus
on health. Now we can have our chocolate in small quantity
without the guilt. Currently, kudos to the health benefits of
chocolate is limited to dark chocolate as the beneficial properties are more concentrated.
Chocolate & Chocolate Fountains:
Chocolate is consumed in many forms, including multiple tiered Chocolate Fountains that have become very popular with caterers and chefs around the world. They are often found gracing special events like wedding receptions and large charitable and corporate events. A commercial chocolate fountain is a multi-tiered stainless steel piece of equipment that warms chocolate and keeps it in a liquid state so it can be transported through an inner tube using a large cork screw or auger system, allowing the chocolate to gently flow elegantly over each tier in a continual motion. Guests dip fresh fruits and pastry items into the flowing fountain of chocolate
shaped like a wedding cake. Commercial chocolate fountains
provide a small quantity of chocolate, which can just as easily
be dark chocolate over milk or white chocolate.
Other foods cited as healthy, served in small quantities, that pack a punch when it comes to
flavor, include: potatoes, nuts and butter, spices, and tea. For more information and to review the complete article, please refer to Asian Restaurant News (January 2007) or contact The
