How to Buy a Commercial Chocolate Fountain
Criteria for Purchasing Chocolate
Fountains
What criteria
should you look for in a
commercial chocolate fountain? First, determine the SIZE
of chocolate fountain that will meet your need. Are you
entertaining 50, 150, 250, 350, or more? Will the fountain be
set up for a designated period of time or will it be running for
more frequently? How much ambiance are you looking for? How much
ambiance will your customers or clients expect or desire?
Commercial
chocolate fountains come in two (2) general body sizes and three
(3) general heights, often referred to as Small, Medium, and
Tall. Small commercial chocolate fountains start at 23" H and go
up to 28" H, with base diameters ranging from 12" to almost 14".
These models are PORTABLE and can easily be moved from one room
to another. Medium and Tall commercial chocolate fountains start
at 29" H and go up to 44" H, with base diameters ranging from
16" to almost 19". However, larger commercial chocolate
fountains are available for special applications.
Second,
determine the BRAND of chocolate fountain that will best
suit your needs.
The industry standard in chocolate fountain manufacturing was developed by DR, back in 1991; a long standing chocolate and pastry manufacturer.
Others have since begun manufacturing commercial chocolate
fountains, some with much better quality than others and
features as well. Purchasing a commercial chocolate fountain from a reputable, long term manufacturing company
or distribution provider is desired to ensure product quality and support services.
Here are some
points to consider: Does the provider specialize in chocolate
equipment and if so, for how long? Who is the direct manufacturer?
How frequently are product improvements made? How have they handled previous product quality issues? Are they a ‘stocking distributor?’ If so, they typically have a vested interest
in your success and their support services may directly reflect this.
PRICING
for
commercial fountains range from $1499 to over $10,000.
Models should be 100% stainless steel and built to withstand the rigors of commercial use. |
